Neymar injury update: After COVID-19 and suspension, an injury forced him out of action for PSG and Brazil

The Brazilian star has been on and off the pitch this season. He was initially stopped by COVID-19 alongside some of his teammates who got infected as well. This affected PSG, losing their first two Ligue 1 games in the process.

On his return to the pitch after recovering from the dreaded virus, Neymar got involved in an altercation during a 1-0 loss to Olympique Marseille, getting him the matching order.

Although he alleged being racially abused, prompting him to hit a Marseille player on the head. The red card got him suspended for two games.

These factors have thus reduced his games to just two Champions League clash, and four League 1 actions.

Since he has been billed for return to Ligue 1 action alongside Mbappe, it is hoped that the Brazilian continues from where he stopped by banging in the goals and creating assists which have been his trademark for his club.

It won’t be surprising if Mbappe recovers from his groin injury earlier than expected as the team’s medical department is working to bring him up to speed on match fitness ahead of their Ligue 1 clash against Rennes.

Should in case, he passes the fitness test, he will then join France for the international games after being invited.
