Neymar Pays Courtesy Visit To The Squad Of Brazil As They Prepare To Trade Tackles In The 2024 Copa America

    Neymar paid a courtesy visit to the national team camp of Brazil, as they compete for glory at the 2024 Copa America being held in the United States Of America.

    The 32-year-old has never won the Copa America despite the Selecao winning the tournament in 2019.

    However, he is an iconic figure in Brazilian football history, as he is the country’s top-scorer with 79 goals in 128 appearances.

    Neymar is well revered in Brazil and he is their biggest superstar currently, having played for several top clubs, including; Santos, Barcelona, and Paris Saint Germain.

    Neymar With Brazil’s Squad For 2024 Copa America

    His presence at Brazil’s training ground was made known by him, as he took to Instagram to put a post of him in camp.

    It appears Dorival Júniors’ side are training at the University of California, in Los Angeles, United States Of America.

    Moreover, Marquinhos, Vinicius, and Raphinha all took to their Instagram to share pictures of Neymar, where he was seen training with the side while posing for pictures.

    The Al Hilal man was also seen smiling with Vinicius Jr, whilst also posing with Marquinhos and Raphinha in the post which he shared on Instagram.

    Why Did Brazil Not Select Neymar For The 2024 Copa America?

    Neymar couldn’t be amongst Brazil’s contingent for the tournament, due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury, which he sustained during the Selecao’s 2-0 defeat to Uruguay in the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

    The injury kept him out of the remainder of matches for the 2023/24 football season, as he couldn’t feature for Al Hilal and it also ruled him out of the 2024 Copa America.

    There were initial reports that he could make it for the competition, although that would have meant that he recovered quickly from the knock.

    Neymar is currently making efforts at getting back on track and delineating his brilliance for club and country, as he looks like a player, who still has something to offer to the beautiful game called football.

    The Brazilian has made 547 club appearances thus far in his career, scoring 331 goals and providing 207 assists in all competitions.

    Internationally, Neymar has scored 79 goals and provided 59 assists in 128 appearances for Brazil.

    Brazil In 2024 Copa America

    Meanwhile, the Selecao will commence their journey to win the 2024 Copa America on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, when they battle Costa Rica in their opening game of the tournament.

    Dorival Júnior’s side subsequently face Paraguay and Colombia on Saturday, June 29 and July 3, 2024, respectively.

    They have won 9 Copa America titles in history and it will be interesting to see if they can achieve continental glory with their current setup.

    Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, and Colombia are also countries considered favorites for the 2024 Copa America title.

    Argentina are the current holders of the competition, having won the title in 2021, defeating Brazil in the final.

    They still enjoy the brilliance of football great Lionel Messi and it will be fascinating to see what he can contribute to the side.

    The 2024 Copa America commenced on June 20, 2024, and it will be on until July 14, 2024.
