Paris Saint-Germain striker, Neymar has been ruled out of action until mid-November after getting injured in his side’s 2-0 Champions League victory over Istanbul Basaksehir on Wednesday.

This means the Brazilian star won’t be part of the national team during November international break after sustaining a groin injury.

The 28-year-old attempted to continue on Wednesday but was eventually forced to succumb to the problem early in the game.

Neymar injured in Turkey while playing for PSG

A brace from Moise Kean ultimately secured victory for the Parisians in Turkey. This gives the on-loan striker more opportunity in the middle. The head coach, Thomas Tuchel might now move Kylian Mbpaee to the left while Kean would slot into the middle.

So, the on-loan Everton man will get more minutes as Neymar is set for a couple of weeks on the sidelines due to the issue.

Speaking over the development, the German expressed sadness, stating that the superstar had a minor injury in his abductor.

“We’re sad. He’s got a small injury to his adductor. He’ll be back after the break. I don’t think he can play for Brazil. The information that we have is that he’ll be back after the break.”

PSG likely to miss Neymar for three weeks

According to reports, PSG will be without the forward for three games that would be before the international recess, beginning with a Ligue 1 encounter against Nantes on Saturday.

PSG will then travel to Germany for a critical Champions League match against RB Leipzig before a home encounter against in-form Rennes next Saturday.

This means that PSG’s hope for Neymar’s return will be against Monaco in another Ligue 1 match on November 20.

“It was necessary to take him off. We now have to wait for a diagnosis. It was not serious pain, but he felt uncomfortable. Because of the tight schedule, it might cost him a few games, though I cannot be sure at this point,” he told RMC Sport.

Neymar’s stop-start continues having missed the opening defeat to Lens due to coronavirus. He then missed games against Metz and Nice due to suspension after being sent off in a 1-0 loss to Marseille.

He was also absent during PSG’s 4-0 in Nantes immediately after the previous international break as he was yet to return from South America in sufficient time to play to his capacity.

So far, he has scored two goals and created four more in six appearances.

PSG tops the Ligue 1 table with 18 points from their opening eight games. After losing their first two games, Tuchel’s men won their past six league matches, conceding just once and scoring 20 times over that span.
