Neymar has sparked harsh criticisms on social media after the footballer was spotted playing online poker at his daughter’s birthday party.

The Brazilian icon made a high-profile move from Paris Saint Germain to Al Hilal in the Saudi Professional League earlier this year, but his season was cut short due to a knee injury sustained while on international duty with Brazil.

Meanwhile, the footage of Neymar multitasking between his daughter’s birthday party and his poker game quickly spread online.

The viral clip showed Neymar not fully engaged in the birthday celebration. Instead, the 32-year-old professional footballer was caught using his phone to play online poker, a game he has professed his love for.

In the clip, Neymar and Biancardi were seen holding their daughter, Mavie, with the caption indicating she is six months old.

While holding his daughter’s hand, Neymar briefly glances at his phone screen to play poker before returning to the celebration.

However, his action has sparked harsh criticism on social media where users considered him ‘completely finished’.

On social media, one fan said: “This guy Neymar is finished. Bro is gambling on poker in the middle of his daughter’s birthday.”

Another tweeted: “Someone helps bro.”

A third fan added: “Hold Neymar is going to be broke in 3 years after spending the hilal money on poker nights.”

Someone else wrote: “You gotta respect the hustle.”

A fifth commented: “Not a good look.”

Neymar receives medal for Al-Hilal’s Saudi Super Cup title without featuring

Al-Hilal secured a 4-1 victory over Al-Ittihad to claim the Saudi Arabian Super Cup title on Thursday, March 11.

Despite being sidelined with an injury, Neymar showed his support for the team and received a medal without playing in the tournament.

The Brazilian forward, who joined Al-Hilal in a high-profile transfer last summer, has had limited playing time with just five appearances for the team.

Although his absence on the field has been felt, the team has continued to succeed, remaining undefeated since their loss in the Arab Club Champions Cup final to Al-Nassr in August.

Following their victory over Al-Ittihad in the Super Cup match, Al-Hilal achieved a remarkable milestone of 34 consecutive victories, setting a new record in men’s football history.

Al-Hilal secured their fourth victory in the Saudi Super Cup, adding to their previous triumphs in 2015, 2018, and 2021. With a total of 61 domestic trophies, they hold the title of the most successful club in Saudi Arabia.

The Brazilian forward cleared off a $3 million fine

The ‘lucky’ Neymar Jr has been cleared of a $3 million fine by a court ruling after he was accused of environmental damage for constructing a lake at his mansion.

The controversy began when concerns were raised about an environmental violation reported to Mangaratiba City Hall after Neymar shared on Instagram showing the lake being built on his property in Mangaratiba.

Various authorities, including the local attorney general’s office, state civil police, and environmental protection agencies, looked into the matter.

However, Judge Adriana Ramos de Mello dismissed the fine and charges, citing a report from the state environmental authority INEA stating that the construction did not require special environmental permits.

What’s next for Neymar?

Neymar has been sidelined with an injury after playing only five games for Al-Hilal, and it is anticipated that he will be out for a couple of months.

While there is no definite timeline for his return, he is aiming to speed up his recovery in time for Brazil’s involvement in the upcoming Copa America in the USA.

With the tournament starting on June 21, it seems unlikely that Neymar will feature for his club before the end of the current domestic season.
