Neymar could be out for the rest of the 2023-2024 season due to injury, after it was confirmed that he tore his ACL and meniscus in Brazil’s 2026 World Cup qualifier against Uruguay.
Brazil lost the encounter 2-0 to Marcelo Bielsa’s side, but the biggest news from that game was the injury to the Al Hilal forward.
Neymar would be hopeful that he can recover in time for the 2024 Copa America that will be played in the United States Of America.
Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal shared a revealing statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, inundating fans on the injury to the 31-year-old.

The Saudi Arabian club wrote: “The medical tests Neymar underwent confirmed the Anterior Cruciate Ligament and Meniscus tear injury in his knee.
“He will be going through surgery and then a treatment program that will be determined later.”
Neymar joined Al Hilal from Paris Saint Germain on August 15, 2023, for a fee of €90 million.
The Brazil international was groaning in pain as he fell to the turf, just a few minutes before the end of the first 45 minutes.
He was seen holding his left leg in pain and requesting urgent medical care as his teammates clustered around him.
Neymar was afterward carted off the field as he continued to gesticulate in pain. He was pictured with a leg brace after the encounter.
The Brazilian has battled injury issues in recent years, and this has blighted his performances in the last couple of years.

The 32-year-old also released a statement expressing how saddened he is with the injury, terming it as “the worst of” his life.
He wrote: “It’s a very sad moment, the worst of my life”.
“I know I’m strong… but this time I need support from my family and my friends”.
“It’s not easy to get injured, undergo surgery and then… do it again just four months later.
“I have faith, I leave it in God’s hands”.
Neymar has made 5 appearances for Al Hilal since his arrival, scoring 1 goal and providing 3 assists across all competitions.
The 31-year-old is the most expensive player in the history of the Saudi Pro League, and he received a fanfare welcome to the Gulf country.
Neymar Jr had a colorful unveiling with about 60,000 Al Hilal fans present to welcome their poster boy.
Words like “Neymar is blue” were also emblazoned in the sky, and so many faces were seen across the stadium.
Unfortunately, the Brazil all-time top-scorer is back to the treatment room, and as earlier revealed he could be out until the end of the 2023/24 season.
The 31-year-old has scored 296 goals and provided 193 assists in 503 appearances across all competitions.
