Premier League club, Newcastle United new owners are the richest club owners in the world which means that the club might soon emerge as one of the biggest clubs in Europe.

The Newcastle United new owners are over 13 times richer than Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour who used to be the richest club owner in the Premier League.

Newcastle United is now owned by a Saudi-led consortium that is comprised of Public Investment Fund (PIF), PCP Capital Partners, and RB Sports & Media. The consortium which is led by PIF is worth over £320 billion.

The consortium bought Newcastle United for £300 million. The purchase ended the reign of Mike Ashley who has been the owner of the club for over 14 years.

Ashley failed as the owner of the club to make investments that would make the club compete for major titles. Hence, he ended his reign without winning any major title for the Premier League club.

He only managed to oversee the relegation of the club on two different occasions, a development the supporters of the club were not happy about.

Now that the Newcastle United new owners are richer than the owners of the top 10 richest clubs in the Premier League, Newcastle United is expected to become a high-flying club in the coming seasons.

The new names that will control things at the Premier League side include Yasir Al-Rumayyan, the governor of PIF who will serve as non-executive chairman of Newcastle United, Jamie Reuben will serve as a director of the club, representing RB Sports & Media, while Amanda Staveley, the chief executive of PCP Capital Partners is now a director on the Newcastle board.

Al-Rayyan said: “We are extremely proud to become the new owners of Newcastle United, one of the most famous clubs in English football.

“We thank the Newcastle fans for their tremendously loyal support over the years and we are excited to work together with them.”
