The encounter between AFC Wimbledon and the Magpies was initially due to take place on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at the Cherry Red Records Stadium.

AFC Wimbledon’s Cherry Red Records Stadium was seen in a poor state due to the flood and fan Graham Stacey was pushed to initiate a crowdfunding campaign to settle repair costs for damage caused by the flooding.
Reports indicate that more than £90,000 has been raised on the JustGiving page, with the donations aimed at supporting the Wombles.
The initial sum to be raised was pegged at £10,000, but that has been altered at different times to £100,000 and currently £150,000.
