Newcastle United have completed the signing of Tino Livramento from Southampton for a fee of €37.2 million.
Livramento has signed a five-year deal with the Magpies, which will keep him at the club until June 2028.
Tino Livramento made 34 appearances for Southampton, scoring 1 goal and providing 2 assists across all competitions.
Confirming his arrival to Saint James’ Park, Newcastle United put out a statement on their official website which reads:
“Newcastle United have completed the signing of England under-21 defender Valentino Livramento from Southampton.
“The 20-year-old full-back joins the Magpies for an undisclosed fee and has agreed a contract until summer 2028.”
Livramento becomes the Magpies’ 4th signing this summer, having already signed Sandro Tonali, Harvey Barnes, and Yankuba Minteh.

The former Chelsea defender has also revealed his delight at joining Newcastle United.
In his first interview at the English club, Tino Livramento said: “I’m really excited to have signed for Newcastle United and I’m looking forward to playing in front of the fans.”
The youngster also stated his eagerness to learn how to become a better full-back from teammate, Kieran Trippier.
He said: “To be able to learn from Kieran Trippier is another big thing for me; hopefully he teaches me how to become a better player and a better full-back.”
The 20-year-old has got immense potential, which if well developed could see him become one of the best defenders in the coming years.
He joined Southampton from Chelsea for a fee of €5.9 million and he has continued to burgeon impressively.
Tino Livramento was named Chelsea academy player of the year for the 2020/21 season and he was among the substitutes for the Blues against Manchester City and Arsenal.
Livramento will be battling for a starting shirt alongside other massive players
The defender would be battling for a starting shirt at right-back alongside top names like; Kieran Trippier, Javier Manquillo, and Emil Krafth.
Eddie Howe’s side would be competing on all fronts next season and they are making important signings that could help catapult their season to success.
Newcastle United have had a grueling preseason period, having played in less than a month.
Astonishingly, the Magpies also didn’t lose any encounter across their seven matches in preseason this summer.
They defeated English National League side Gateshead FC in their first game in preseason, before defeating Scottish giants Rangers by 2-1.
Newcastle United afterward played out two score draws, 3-3 against Aston Villa and 1-1 against Chelsea.
Eddie Howe’s side also defeated Brighton, Fiorentina, and Spanish La Liga side Villareal in the preseason.
They commence the season on Saturday, August 12, 2023, with a home game against Unai Emery’s Aston Villa.
Newcastle United will also be competing in the UEFA Champions League next season, having qualified for the tournament for the first time in 20 years.
The Magpies finished 4th in the Premier League last season and they also lost the final of the Carabao Cup to Manchester United.
