Newcastle United have completed the signing of young Danish striker William Osula from Sheffield United for a transfer fee worth £10 million.
The transfer fee includes a £5 million add-on for the 20-year-old striker, who will go straight into the Newcastle first team ahead of the 2024–25 season.
Newcastle are looking forward to adding more players to the squad and also want to reduce the average age of the squad.
The Denmark U-21 International is not a big-name player a lot of Magpies fans have been expecting, but the club hierarchy believe he is a player with significant potential.
The Danish star will significantly play in the middle and will be used as a substitute for the club’s first-choice striker, Alexander Isak.
The idea to sign the young Danish striker was driven by Newcastle Sporting director Paul Mitchell, who believed the player was capable of becoming a world-class player in the future.
Howe told the club bosses that he needs two more players before the end of the transfer window so that they can improve the overall performance of Newcastle ahead of next season.
Howe wants to make a new right-leg centre back his major priority in the transfer window. However, the club have been extremely slow in signing new players.
