Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has finally given Arsenal football club the conditions the club must meet before he can extend his stay at the club. He wants the club to give him at least three years contract and a £250,000-per-week wage.

The 31-year-old Gabon national team star has been very uncertain about his stay with the London club despite being the best player at the club. His current contract with Arsenal will expire in June 2021 days after he turns 32-year-old and it seems Arsenal are having a second thought to giving him a long term contract.

Earlier in the year, Aubameyang was quoted as saying that the London club has not placed any deal on the table for him. He, however, noted how much he would want to continue playing for the club.

In the same vein, the manager of the club, Mikel Arteta has said that Aubameyang is part of his long term plan and he would want him to stay at the club to score his 100th goal since he has become the fastest player to score 51 goals for the club. This means that Aubameyang, who has been the captain of the club since the era of Arsenal’s former manager Unai Emery, would continue to be a special figure at Arsenal.

On his current contract, Aubameyang’s weekly salary is about £200,000 which means that he currently earns £150,000 less than what Mesut Ozil currently earns at the club. Pundits believe that the Gabonese striker deceives more than the German midfielder who has not played any match since football returned to England on June 17.

According to reports, since Aubameyang has shown willingness to stay at the club despite offers from Barcelona, Juventus and Inter Milan, the club has taken the negotiations with the representative of the player more seriously. But it is left to see whether the management of Arsenal which is notorious for selling their star players, would align with the wish of the coach and the fans this time around.

    Premier League’s King of Goals

Aubameyang joined Arsenal in January 2018 from German Bundesliga side, Borussia Dortmund, for a then Arsenal’s transfer record of £56 million. In his first full season at the club, he continued the scoring spree he is known for in Bundesliga by scoring 31 goals in all competitions, making him the joint highest goalscorer in the league alongside Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

So far this season, he has scored 19 goals in the Premier League alone, making him the current highest goalscorer in the league alongside Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy.
