The Netherlands will play the second half of the Euro 2024 semi-final clash against England without their star player, Memphis Depay who went down with a knock in the 33rd minute of the encounter.
The 30-year-old Atletico Madrid forward called for medical attention immediately after he sat on the pitch without any obvious contact.
Following minutes of medical attention, coach Ronald Koeman decided to substitute him for Joey Veerman in the 35th minute of the encounter.
Before Memphis Depay’s substitution, Xavi Simons’s 7th minute strike from outside the eighteen-yard box had given the Netherlands the lead which was cancelled by Harry Kane’s penalty in the 18th minute. The first half ended in a 1-1 draw.
