Nathan Ake is one of two Manchester City players Chelsea are interested in signing, alongside Raheem Sterling; the Sterling deal is near completion, while Ake’s is still ongoing.

Chelsea and Nathan Ake have reached a personal agreement, as the Blues are eager to try to begin the process of replacing their two lost central defenders.

The Blues were said to be interested in a central defender with Premier League experience, and with Ake available for approximately £45 million, a deal seemed to be close.

Along with that, a deal for Raheem Sterling with Man City is also being negotiated in parallel and is getting even closer to completion. This supports the notion that Chelsea wants to simultaneously announce a double deal from City.

They are familiar with Ake because he spent several years playing for Chelsea’s youth team. He has a lot of quality; he is adaptable to the Premier League, is versatile, and isn’t very pricey. There is a lot of logic in it.

Selling him for a low price and then buying him back is not a good business move, but it is a good move for Chelsea.

Although the Sterling transaction is almost complete, Ake’s move is reportedly far from completion at this time.

After Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger left this summer, Chelsea is in need of defenders.

The Blues expressed interest in Matthijs de Ligt, a center-back for Juventus, but sources claim that the defender wants to join Bayern Munich this summer. The Bavarian club plans to make its first official offer soon.

Ake, 27, moved from Chelsea to Bournemouth in 2017 following a brief loan period. Two years later, he moved for £40 million to City.

The Netherlands center-back played in just 14 Premier League games for Pep Guardiola’s team last season, which ignited his desire to leave City.

    Nathan Ake

Dutch professional footballer Nathan Benjamin Aké (born 18 February 1995) competes for both the Netherlands national team and Premier League club Manchester City as a defender.

He has been used as a left-back even though he often plays as a center-back.

Aké has received accolades for his versatility, decent passing range, good game reading, and ability to play at full-back, center-back, and defensive midfield.

This has been attributed to his professional approach, strong work ethic, and natural technique.

His poised play and demeanor have drawn comparisons to Chelsea star and former Dutch legend Ruud Gullit.
