Nashville SC Opening night v Atlanta United ended 2 – 1

Nashville SC soccer club played their first opening match at home at the music city town against Atlanta United and the game was a good one.  Nashville gave the game their best but Atlanta United’s experience came in to play as they held the 2 – 1 lead for most of the game.

Nashville SC looked good as a new team, they attacked a lot but they were not able to convert to goals.  Defender Walker Zimmerman scored for Nashville SC at the 28th minutes and Ezequiel Barco (9′) and Emerson Hyndman (37′) scored for Atlanta United.

Walker Zimmerman became the person to score the first Major League Soccer goal for Nashville SC.   For an Expansion team, Nashville SC played like they belong to the MLS and they are expected to have a winning season.

Also, Atlanta United Star player Josef Martinez was carted off after sustaining an injury early in the match.

Notable moment from the game 

Goalkeeper Joe Willis (Nashville SC) was shown the yellow card for deliberate handball.
