The Italian club, Napoli sacks manager Carlo Ancelotti despite taking the team to the last 16 of Champions League. Following his 4-0 flawless win against Genk on Tuesday.

His victory over Genk in San Paolo put an end to Napoli’s nine-match winless run in all competitions. Also, finishing second in Group E with a point behind leader Liverpool.

The Italian coach has a poor form this season sitting 7th in the Serie A list. With 17 points behind Inter at the top of the table. The Partenopei finished second in the last campaign, with 11 points behind champions Juventus.

According to rumor, ex-Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso has been linked with replacing the former Chelsea boss after an 18-month role. 

Though Ancelotti did not worry about resigning from his post after his Genk win. Planning to talk with the club president Aurelio De Laurentiis over his future.

Meanwhile, the 60-year-old is a three-time Champions League winner, two with AC Milan and once with Real Madrid. Also, he has records of domestic titles with Milan, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich.

The Italian might return to the Premier League where he has led Chelsea to the title in 2009-10. This time, following Arsenal and Everton sacking Unai Emery and Marco Silva respectively have an interest in Ancelotti.

Despite his records, he has been fired by three clubs, earlier by Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, now Napoli.

Carlo Ancelotti has once overseen Juventus, Chelsea, PSG and Real Madrid before joining Napoli. Also, he is among the only three managers to win three European Cups with three Champion Leagues. Alongside Liverpool legend Bob Paisley and current Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane.
