PSG Bold Challenge For The Champions League Crown Have Always Ended Up Fruitless In Recent Years

Paris Saint Germain are one team that have boldly made their stance over the years about winning the competition, however, they haven’t been able to do so.

They came close during the 2019/20 season, losing the final to Bayern Munich at the Estádio da Luz in Portugal.

PSG have over the years spent massively in acquiring players like Neymar Jr and Kylian Mbappe, all in an attempt to win the trophy, but their efforts have yielded nothing significant.

Football great Lionel Messi also joined the team in 2021, but he also couldn’t help the club win the trophy.

These players have all exited the team and certainly, they will look to go again next season under the tutelage of Luis Enrique, who led Barcelona to the Champions League title in 2015.

It will be interesting to see if they can finally claim the prize after the exit of these stars.

Only 23 teams have won the Champions League title and in the last 2 decades, just Chelsea and Manchester City were the new names to get their hands on the alluring honor.

The UEFA Champions League is a competition where immortality is achieved, and greatness is forged, with gladiators honored for their electric displays.

The competition was established in 1955, before being rebranded in 1992, and it was formerly known as the “European Cup”.
