Moises Caicedo annoyed Mikel Arteta in the London Derby between Arsenal and Chelsea after the Gunners failed to sign him during last summer transfer window.
Arsenal sent several unsuccessful bids to sign the Ecuadorian from Premier League side Brighton in January.
However, the 21-year-old ultimately chose Chelsea and subsequently completed his move to Stamford Bridge in the summer.
The London Derby was Caicedo’s first match as a Chelsea player against Arteta’s side and he was exceptional in the encounter.
Moises Caicedo was awesome in the match, especially in the first half when Chelsea were on the winning side in the derby.
However, his physical style of play and tough tackles did not sit well with Mikel Arteta, who watched from the touchline.
Arteta hails Chelsea’s performance:

“We were just moving the ball without really having the intention to threaten them, and that’s a really dangerous thing to do against teams like Chelsea.
We didn’t win even duels and in tight areas when we had them, they escaped from that,… pic.twitter.com/gdNu6irDC6
Well, the Ecuadorian had every reason to be physical in the match because if he had stepped down, Arsenal would have dominated the game.
The Gunners have one of the finest Premier League players in their squad currently and could have won if not for Chelsea’s form.
Caicedo did not particularly had a perfect debut for Chelsea, but he has gone on to prove his worth in Pochettino’s squad.
Moises Caicedo
Caicedo was born in Santo Domingo, the youngest of ten siblings, and he normally plays football on the scrubland pitches of his hometown, the Mujer Trabajadora neighbourhood, where goals were marked out by piles of stones.
When he was a child, he met local football coach Iván Guerra, who helped him and his family by paying for his football boots, travel and food.
Moises Caicedo was invited to play his first organised football at the Mujer Trabajadora soccer school by Guerra, and he played there between the ages of five and twelve.
Caicedo was initially a forward, and he later developed into a midfielder, and joined local side Colorados Jaipadida at the age of thirteen, an affiliate of professional club ESPOLI.
Moises Caicedo joined Chelsea on 14 August 2023, signing an eight-year contract, with the option of a one-year extension.
