West Ham United will miss Mohammed Kudus for a few more games following the FA’s clampdown on his violent conduct on October 19, 2024, in the Premier League.

Kudus stole the spotlights in a bizarre moment of recklessness in West Ham United’s game against Tottenham Hotspur.

After a foul on Micky van de Ven, in which he was yellow-carded, he proceeded to push the defender and challenge him to a fight. He also confronted another Tottenham player, Pape Matar Sarr, in the heat of the faceoff.

The rash move saw the referee clamp down on him, issuing him a red card. Meanwhile, West Ham United were losing 4-1 in the match, and Kudus’ red card piled up the odds against a possible comeback for the Hammers.

Also, there were only eight minutes left on the clock before regulation when the incident occurred.

Due to the red card, Kudus was expected to miss West Ham United’s next Premier League match against Manchester United and the next fixture against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, November 2, 2024.

But he will not only miss the United game in which West Ham won 2-1 and the 3-0 loss at City Ground to Nottingham Forest, but other fixtures as well.

First on the list of fixtures that have been ruled out is West Ham United’s last match against Everton on Saturday, November 9, 2024, before the November international break.

FA hits Mohammed Kudus, West Ham United with fine and match ban for unruly act

According to the BBC, the English FA have slammed Kudus with a fine of £60,000 for his unruly behavior in the Tottenham Hotspur match.

Also, West Ham United have been slammed with a fine of £20,000 for not controlling their players in the match. And that’s not all; his ban, which was originally set to last for three matches, has been extended to five matches.

This means the Ghana international will not taste action again for West Ham United until a few games after the November international break.

Specifically, he will miss West Ham United’s home fixture against Everton on Saturday, November 9, 2024, before the break.

After the break, the former Ajax attacker will miss two more matches—and an away trip to St James Park for a clash against Newcastle United on November 25, 2024, and another London Derby against Arsenal on November 30, 2024.

He is expected to return to action on December 3, 2024, in an away Premier League fixture against 2016 champions Leicester City.

Notably, Mohammed Kudus’ extended ban and fine is part of the the FA’s strict stance on match dissent by players.

We reported earlier the Premier League have implemented new rules to eradicate dissent and increase match officials’ control of proceedings during matches.

Kudus has been a key member of the West Ham United squad since joining from Ajax in 2022. He made 33 Premier League appearances for the club on his debut season, scoring 8 goals with 6 assists.

This season, he has tallied 8 Premier League appearances, scoring two goals before the temporary setback due to the FA ban.
