Mohamed Salah is among the few top Africa football stars who are currently reigning in Europe that started their football careers in their country’s domestic leagues. The first professional contract Mo Salah signed was with an Egyptian club El Mokawloon in 2010.

From there, he moved to a Switzerland club Basel, where he won the Swiss Super League for two conservative seasons, 2012-2013 and 2013-2014. His performance at Basel attracted the attention of Premier League club, Chelsea, hence, he was brought to the club in 2014.

Unfortunately for the Egyptian, he was not able to establish himself at Chelsea, hence, he was sent on loan to Fiorentina in 2015 and then to Roma in the 2015-2016 season. While on loan at Roma, he was so impressive that the Italian club decided to make his loan deal a permanent one.

Mohamed Salah played in Italy for less than two full seasons before Liverpool paid £36.9 million to Roma in order to bring him back to the Premier League. When he got to Liverpool, he became an instant success as he helped the club to the Champions League final in 2018 but lost it to Real Madrid.

The next season became the biggest of his career as he was instrumental in ensuring that Liverpool challenged for the league title, win the UEFA Champions League, the Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup. He ended the season as the joint top scorer in the Premier League. He also finished among the top 5 in the 2019 Ballon d’Or.

However, 2019-2020 season was more historic despite helping Liverpool to win only one title, the Premier League. The one title Mo Salah helped the club to win was the most desired title of the club. In fact, it was the first time in 30 years that Liverpool won the league title.

Mohamed Salah is a devoted Muslim and as such, he is not involved in any known controversies, so is his 27-year-old wife Maggi. The case of his wife is even more reserved as she is hardly active on social media, unlike other celebrities wives.

According to available data, Mo Salah and Maggi met while in elementary school and became friends from there until junior high school in their hometown and birthplace Nagrig, in ancient Egypt.

Their relationship remained strong despite the fact that Mo Salah was always travelling due to his football career. They finally got married on December 17, 2013, in their hometown.

In 2014, Mohamed Salah and Maggi welcomed their first daughter named Makka, and 6 years later, they welcomed their second daughter Kayan in 2020. They all live together in the city of Liverpool.
