Mohamed Salah finally wins Player of the month ahead of Ronaldo

    Liverpool talisman, Mohamed Salah has been named the Premier League player of the month for October after losing the September edition of the award to Cristiano Ronaldo.

    This time around, Ronaldo was not anywhere near the 29-year-old Egyptian winger for the October edition of the award.

    Salah has been unstoppable for Liverpool since this season started. His form went all-time high in September which made many expect that he would win the September Premier League player of the month.

    In October, Mohamed Salah took his form to a whole new level by scoring some outstanding goals that could only be imagined.

    The 29-year-old Egyptian footballer scored a hat-trick against Manchester United in Liverpool’s 5-0 win over the Red Devils. He also scored a well-crafted individual goal against Manchester City, and he did the same against Watford.

    Before October ended, Mohamed Salah had scored five goals and provided 4 assists in the Premier League. His nine-goal involvements managed to help Liverpool to record just two wins and two draws.

    As Salah was doing wonders in the Premier League, he was also doing wonders for Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League. He scored two goals in a Champions League game against Atletico Madrid. The game ended 3-2 in favor of Liverpool.

    The stats of the Egyptian was so overwhelming that those who contended against him for the October EA Sports player of the month for October could not stand a chance.

    Salah won the award ahead of Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell, Burnley’s Maxwel Cornet, Manchester City’s Phil Foden, Southampton’s Tino Livramento, Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, West Ham midfielder Declan Rice, and Leicester’s Youri Tielemans.

    The Egyptian footballer is expected to be active for Egypt when the country face Angola at 20:00 later today, November 12, in a World Cup qualification match. His country is a step away from qualifying for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

    After the international break, Salah is expected to lead Liverpool to play against Arsenal on Saturday, November 20, at 18:30.

    The match is a must-win for Liverpool if they want to retain their top-four status. On the other hand, the match is a must-win for Arsenal if they want to break into the top four.

    Arsenal are currently sitting on the 5th spot on the league table with 20 points in 11 games, 2 points below Liverpool that are currently sitting 4th.

    Meanwhile, coach Thomas Tuchel has won the Premier League coach of the month for October. The German tactician won the award after leading Chelsea to record three wins in four league games last month.

    In the four games, Tuchel and his boys recorded three clean sheets. They are currently topping the Premier League table with 26 points in 11 games, three points above second-placed Manchester City.
