Salah had to fight for the award alongside other premier league players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Kane, Kevin De Bruyne, and his teammates Sadio Mane and Virgil van Dijk.

The Egyptian king as most fans call him has been amazing for the Liverpool side since he joined them. During the just-concluded Premier League season, Mohamed Salah scored 23 goals and provided 14 assists. These stats got him the golden boot award together with Tottenham Hotspur player, Son Heung-min and also the playmaker award.

Although his team didn’t win the Premier League, he made a huge impact in their last game against Wolves. Salah was subbed in when the game was at 1-1 and scored the second goal of the match.

The game ended 3-1 in their favor but it was not enough to get them the title after Manchester City triumphed over Aston Villa. He was also helpful in other competitions which saw them win both FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

The team finished second in the UEFA Champions League after a 1-0 defeat to La Liga champions Real Madrid on May 28. Mohamed Salah had promised revenge against Real Madrid ahead of the final after he was injured in the 2018 Champions League final which Real Madrid won.

The Egyptian star player gave all he could at the finals but the Real Madrid goalkeeper was all over the goal post. He made great saves that denied Mo Salah a chance of scoringint Paris.

While receiving the PFA Player’s Player Of The Year Award, Salah said; “It’s a great honor to win a trophy, individual or collective, and this one is big so, very happy and very proud of that.”

He added: “This one is a really good one to win, especially because it’s voted by players. It shows you that you’ve worked really hard and you get what you worked for. I have my room with trophies in a cabinet and I made sure that I had another space for one more. I always keep space and just try to imagine that the trophies are going to come.

“When you get older, you feel like you’re more stable and you know exactly what you want from football so I’m just trying to really chill and help the team. That’s why I think I also won the playmaker because it’s like you’re more aware of the game, so you just try to make the people next to you better and try to make yourself better as well.”
