Mohamed Salah shared a video on his social media account where he called on “world leaders to come together to prevent further slaughter of innocent souls.”

Recent reports by health officials claim that hundreds of people were killed by an explosion at a crowded hospital in Gaza City on Tuesday, 17th October, 2023.

The 31-year-Old Liverpool and Egypt forward in the video stated that humanitarian aid to Gaza must be allowed “immediately”.

Speaking in the video, he said: “It is not always easy to speak in a time like this. There has been too much violence and too much heartbreak and brutality.”

Mohamed Salah went on to say the escalations in the recent weeks is unbearable to witness. “All lives are sacred and must be protected”, he argued.

“The massacres need to stop. Families are being torn apart,” Mohamed Salah, who captains Egypt’s national team, added in the video as shared above.

“What is clear now is humanitarian aid to Gaza must be allowed immediately. The people there are in terrible conditions.”

“The scenes at the hospital last night were horrifying. The people of Gaza need food, water and medical supplies urgently.”

“I am calling on the world leaders to come together to prevent the further slaughter of innocent souls – humanity must prevail.”

Mohamed Salah reportedly made an undisclosed significant donation through his agent to humanitarian organisation, the Egyptian Red Crescent Society, in support of the people of Gaza.

Mohamed Salah Hamed Mahrous Ghaly, also known as Mo Salah, is an Egyptian footballer who was born on 15th June, 1992 and plays as a forward for Liverpool and captains the Egypt national team.

Salah is considered one of the best players of his generation and among the greatest African players of all time. He is known for his clinical finishing, dribbling, and speed.

However, outside of football, Salah is regarded as a symbol of national pride in Egypt for his achievements and was named in Time magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in 2019.

Mohamed Salah has also been credited for raising the profile of Liverpool among Egyptians.

What Is Happening In Gaza?

Since Hamas fighters unexpectedly attacked Israel on October 7 and killed almost 1,400 people while capturing others, Gaza has been under siege.

In retaliation, Israel declared war and bombarded the 2.3 million-person area nonstop. There have been 3,480 confirmed Palestinian deaths as a result of the attacks.

On a Wednesday flight to Tel Aviv, US President Joe Biden said that Israel had granted his plea to permit aid into Gaza, amidst growing apprehension over diminishing supplies and alerts about an impending humanitarian crisis.

An Israeli embargo that lasted sixteen years had already caused the enclave to struggle.

Egypt has declared that it will permit 20 trucks to enter Gaza through the southern Rafah crossing with humanitarian supplies.
