Mohamed Elneny of Arsenal took to his Instagram page to share a lovely picture of himself and his family spending time together.
In the image he shared on his account, he was together with 8 other family members as they all smiled to the camera.
The Egyptian and Arsenal Midfielder posted it with a caption: “My family 🥰”
Elneny hasn’t had a great experience at Arsenal. He will likely miss the rest of the campaign after having surgery for a knee issue.
Elneny hurt his right knee during practice earlier this month, and after consulting with medical professionals, he was compelled to have surgery.
The operation was successful, but Arsenal has now confirmed in a statement that the Egyptian midfielder will be out for a “extended period” while he begins his recovery.
Elneny’s return has not been given a firm timetable by the team, although it is anticipated that the 30-year-old won’t play again this season.
One of the key causes of Arsenal’s last-minute bid for Jorginho was Elneny’s injury.
The midfielder signed an 18-month agreement worth £12 million from Chelsea. He is an international for Italy.
Mohamed Elneny
Mohamed Naser Elsayed Elneny, an Egyptian professional footballer who plays defensive midfield for Premier League side Arsenal and the Egypt national team, was born on July 11, 1992.
Prior to joining Swiss club Basel in January 2013, Elneny began his professional career at the senior level in the Egyptian Premier League.
In each of his four seasons with Basel, he won eight awards, including the Swiss Super League. He was traded to Arsenal in January 2016.
Mohamed Elneny’s International Career
Elneny represented Egypt’s under-23 team at the 2012 Summer Olympics, and he also played for the senior squad at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the 2017 and 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, and the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
Elneny participated in each of the four games as the national under-23 team advanced to the last eight before being eliminated by Japan. This helped the squad qualify for the 2012 Olympics.
In September 2011, Elneny made his full international debut against Sierra Leone.
On June 4, 2014, he scored his first goal for Egypt in a friendly match against Jamaica that ended in a 2-2 tie.
He was a member of the senior Egypt national team that competed in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon, where they placed second.
He also assisted in the team’s qualification for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which was held in Russia.
Media and Personal life
Elneny was a part of the All or Nothing: Arsenal Amazon Original Sports Docuseries, which followed the club’s 2021–22 season by spending time with its players, coaches, and administrative personnel.
On Elneny’s land in El-Mahalla El-Kubra, Egypt, in July 2019, a man’s body who was thought to be a burglar trying to steal electrical cables was found.
His father found the body and reported the event to the police right afterwards. The man was allegedly electrocuted while attempting to take the cables.
The sponsors of Arsenal, Lavazza, started “urgent negotiations” with the team on May 15, 2021, after Elneny tweeted in favor of Palestine during the Israel-Palestinian conflict that year. The case was closed afterwards.
