Brazilian club Corinthians have reportedly reached an agreement with MLS outfit New York City FC to sign prolific winger Talles Magno on loan.
Magno, who has struggled with crippling injuries at the New York-based outfit this season, is said to have given a nod for the move as he seeks a fresh start away from his recent misfortunes with New York City FC.
The 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup winner had gotten off the mark for the MLS club after joining for $8m from Vasco Da Gama. He won the MLS Cup in his debut season in 2021 and the Campeones Cup in 2022.
In the Campeones-winning campaign with New York City FC, he scored 8 goals with 8 assists in 30 matches. In 2023, he made 30 MLS appearances for the club, finding the back of the net four times and assisting twice.
The tides have turned this season. A crippling injury crisis has seen the player manage only four MLS appearances for the club. However, he is expected to return to the summit of his game following his return to Brazil.
According to Brazilian outlet, Globo, a buy-out option of $13m has been attached to the loan deal. This means Magno could continue his career in the Brazilian top flight if Corinthians trigger the clause after the expiration of his loan deal.
