Mikel Arteta of Arsenal was full of praise for the Gunners supporters following their victory over Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday 9th of October, 2022. At the Emirates Stadium.

After his team defeated Liverpool 3-2, Mikel Arteta congratulated the Arsenal supporters for creating an atmosphere he had never experienced before.

Bukayo Saka’s game-winning conversion from the spot put an end to Liverpool’s challenge after they twice rallied from goals down to win at a frantic Emirates Stadium, giving the Gunners their eighth victory of the year and reclaiming first place in the Premier League.

Gabriel Martinelli’s 58-second goal set the tone for a thrilling victory that further fueled the high expectations brewing in north London after Mikel Arteta urged his team to give the Arsenal supporters something to cheer about.

After a smooth team move, Gabriel Martinelli received a wonderfully weighted slide rule feed from Martin Odeegard, who then skillfully guided a low finish past Alisson and into the bottom corner.

After Arsenal’s quick start, Liverpool appeared shell-shocked, but they eventually started to claw their way back into the contest, and just after the halfway point, Jurgen Kopp’s team duly equalised.

The summer addition Darwin Nunez duly scored with a sliding finish after Arsenal defender Gabriel misread a long ball forward, allowing Luis Dias to slip in behind and square the ball across the goal to him.

Liverpool continued to try to score an equalizer, but Arsenal held on for a victory that they deserved after a strong second-half performance.

After the game, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed his satisfaction with his team’s performance.

While speaking after the match Mikel Arteta said Arsenal showed a lot of poise and spirit despite the numerous occasions and threats Liverpool posed.

“We’re incredibly thrilled because it was the ideal way to begin because of the enthusiasm it inspires in the crowd”, Mikel Arteta told Sky Sports.

“Because of our poor build-up and the difficulty of playing the ball inside, we were unable to exit [before halftime]. We had to persevere to reach halftime after we started to lose some duels.”

On the other hand, Jurgen Klopp, manager of Liverpool, has admitted that his team is not in the race for the Premier League title this year.

Liverpool’s third loss of the year ensured their worst point total through 10 Premier League seasons.

The Reds’ early-season struggles have caused manager Jurgen Klopp to admit their title aspirations are already dead. The team has 10 points after eight games, 14 fewer than league leaders Arsenal.

Klopp declared, “We’re not in the title race. “Even though we are now having issues, we must continue. In a circumstance like ours, we shall engage in combat. We are not here to enjoy the situation and reflect on the previous year “.

However, Klopp questioned why Gabriel Magalhaes wasn’t disciplined for handball in the first half and decried the penalty slammed on Liverpool for Thiago Alcantara’s challenge on Gabriel Jesus, which gave Arsenal the victory.

Because Manchester City was the next team to play at Anfield, injuries to Trent Alexander-Arnold and Luis Diaz, who were taken out during the first and second halves respectively, added more woes to Liverpool’s setback.

    What’s next for Arsenal?

Before visiting Leeds the following Sunday, Arsenal will travel to play the Norwegian team Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League on Thursday, October 13, 2022.
