Arsenal will miss Gabriel Jesus again on the sidelines “for a few weeks” following an injury blow to the forward, Mikel Arteta confirms.

Gabriel Jesus starred for the Gunners in their Champions League trip to Sevilla, scoring and providing an assist as they ran out with a 2-1 win at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.

The victory came at a cost as the 26-year-old Brazil international limped off with an harmstring injury in the 81st minutes.

Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League clash against Sheffield United at the weekend, Mikel Arteta confirmed Gabriel Jesus will miss the fixture and will also be out of subsequent games for the club for a few weeks following scan.

“The scan showed there is a muscle injury. We might lose him foagainstr a few weeks again,” Arteta said of Jesus.

The Arsenal boss added: “With Gabi, I cannot give you any time frame because he always surprises us.

“But there is something there. He had quite a [high] load over the last few weeks. It’s really bad news for us.”

Jesus had minor knee surgery in August and missed the start of the Premier League season.

After returning to full fitness he had started in Arsenal’s last four league games, and all three of the club’s Champions League group matches to date, scoring four times so far this season.
