Mikayil Faye Joins Rennes From FC Barcelona on permanent deal

Stade Rennais have completed the signing of Mikayil Ngor “Mika” Faye from Barcelona for an initial fee of €10.3 million.

Reports indicate that a €25 million buyback clause has been inserted in the deal by Barcelona, and a 30% sell-on clause has also been included in the transfer.

Confirming the signing of Faye from the Blaugrana side, Rennais has put out a statement on their website which read:

“Stade Rennais F.C. and FC Barcelona have reached an agreement for the transfer of the great Senegalese hope of the 2004 generation. The central defender has signed up for a period of four seasons.”

Mikayil Faye didn’t make an appearance for Barcelona, after joining the youth team of the side on July 1, 2023, from NK Kustosija Zagreb for a fee of €1.5 million.

Faye represented the reserve team of the Catalan giants but was unable to break into the first team of the side.

Mikayil Faye made 35 appearances for Barcelona B, scoring 4 goals and providing no assists in all competitions.

The 20-year-old represents Senegal at the international level, and he has made 1 appearance for the country, scoring 1 goal and providing no assists.

Faye, who can function as a center-back and left-back, will be hoping to develop further in his career at Stade Rennais.

Mikayil Faye becomes the 9th of the summer for Stade Rennais, having already secured the services of Albert Grønbaek, Glen Kamara, Carlos Andrés Gómez, and Leo Østigård.

Rennais has also signed Jordan James, Henrik Meister, Hans Hateboer, and Mohamed Jaouab.

Como Sign Maximo Perrone From Manchester City

Serie A side Como have acquired Argentine midfielder Maximo Perrone from Manchester City.

Como confirmed the signing of Perrone via a statement shared on their website which read:

“Como 1907 is delighted to announce that Máximo Perrone will join the club on loan from Manchester City. The creative midfielder joins the club after an excellent pre-season on a one-year loan deal with an option to extend.”

The 21-year-old becomes the 17th player to join the newly-promoted Serie A side this summer, having already secured the services of Alberto Dossena, Yannik Engelhardt, Emil Audero, Gabriel Strefezza, Alieu Fadera, Andrea Belotti and Matthias Braunöder.

The Blues have also signed Ben Lhassine Kone, Marco Curto, Raphaël Varane, Sergi Roberto, Alberto Moreno, Pepe Reina, Ali Jasim, Peter Kovacik, and Luca Mazzitelli.

Maximo Perrone

Perrone has made just 2 appearances for Manchester City since joining the club from Argentine side CA Vélez Sarsfield on January 23, 2023, for a fee of €11 million.

Maximo Perrone spent the 2023/24 season on loan at UD Las Palmas, making 30 appearances for the club, scoring no goal and providing no assists in all competitions.

Perrone will be hoping to develop more in his career at Como, as they battle to stay afloat in the 2024/25 Serie A season.

Maximo Perrone functions primarily in the defensive midfield department but can also be utilized in the central midfield unit.

Certainly, he will be hoping to produce great performances at Como, in a bid to become a regular starter at Manchester City in the coming years.

His contract at the Etihad side expires on June 30, 2028, having signed a five-and-half-year deal when he joined the club in January 2023.
