Fernandes, who has converted every spot-kick he has stood over in English football so far might not be lucky to do the same next season with this kind of revelation.

Bruno Fernandes: Soares provides answer on how he can be stopped from scoring penalties

The 29-year-old, who currently plays for lower league side Pero Pinheiro is a property consultant as well. But he has the answer when it comes to denying Fernandes from the spot.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Soares described the save as a great moment for him.

“The secret was the small movement I made to the left. Bruno looks at the keeper when he takes a penalty, so I did the same to him. I feigned to dive to the left, and went to the right.

“I wanted to make Bruno take his decision as late as possible. I didn’t want to make his life easier. We took Sporting all the way to extra time and still gave them a scare before they won 2-1.

“I hope Bruno can continue converting penalties in the Premier League. He’ll miss one eventually, but I hope it won’t be for a while – it is better for me.”

Soares further said he missed his shirt the last time out, but won’t mind having his Manchester United Shirt now.

“I didn’t manage to get his shirt after the Sporting game, but I would love to have one of his Manchester United shirts now.

“Although I was his opponent on the day, I am a big fan of his.”

Out of he 28 penalties he has taken in his career, Fernandes converted 26 of them.

His ten goals from 20 appearances for the Red Devils has put him as one of the best signing of the 2019-20 season as his coming into the team gave them a lift that eventually got them the Champions League ticket.

Manchester United will hope that the Portugual international will continue fro where he stopped in the Europa League that resumes next month.

Winning the title will cap a successful season for the Old Trafford team.
