Arsenal talisman, Mesut Ozil has been linked with a transfer to Turkish team Fernabache despite earning a whopping sum of £350k weekly in Arsenal. The 31-year-old midfielder’s future in Gunner seems uncertain as he nears the ending of his contract with the North London club in 2021.

Ozil is the highest player in Arsenal, he practically take home £350k on a weekly basis since he signed a new deal in 2018. Reasonably, Arsenal might experience a little difficulty in talking Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to signing a new contract that pays below what Mesut Ozil is currently earning at the club.

Meanwhile, critics have opined that as long as Ozil remains in the club and still earns that much, Gunner will have a problem with other top players in the team because many of them will want his type of pay too. Former Arsenal legend, Paul Merson stated earlier last week that it will be a major disaster for Arsenal to lose Aubameyang due to a complicated contract issue that can not be disconnected to Mesut Ozil’s wages in the club. In Merson’s word, ‘It would be a major disaster for Arsenal if they lost Aubameyang, however, the decision will be weighed up and at least it will be the club’s decision as to what they do.’

The 31-year-old German-Turkish player has been rumored to join Fernabache when his £350k weekly wage contract expires in Arsenal in the next 12 months. However, his agent, Erkut Sogut has explained that the player is happy with his stay in Arsenal.

Quoting his words, he said: ‘You never know in football. First of all, you can never predict the movement of players.

‘I have said it before and I am saying it again that he [Ozil] is really happy where he is at Arsenal. He is still has a contract to go and there is no change.

Nevertheless, he still didn’t rule out the possibilities that Ozil might later join the Turkish club in a foreseeable future.
