Troubled Memphis Depay might exit star-studded FC Barcelona for Premier League club, Tottenham Hotspur who are aspiring to make a mark in 2022-2023 UEFA Champions campaign.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte and his team have been quick off the blocks, boosting their team with five first-team additions this summer.

Having bolstered their ranks with proven talents in the likes of Yves Bissouma, Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic, Clement Lenglet, and Richarlison, they still aren’t hitting the brakes.

They are already in advanced talks to make additions to their right-wing-back in Djed Spence. The young English defender currently playing for Middleborough is already being touted as their new addition.

That wouldn’t spell the end of their transfer business, with reports reaching us that they are targeting a proven central forward to provide competition for their stellar steward, Harry Kane.

Le Oranje and former Manchester United player Memphis Depay are top on the list to best fill this position.

With Barcelona all but sealing a deal for their main attacking target, Robert Lewandoski, this would push Depay further down the pecking order and out of the doors at Nou Camp.

Already facing steep competition for a starting berth, with Ferran Torres, Ansu Fati, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and contract rebel Ousmane Dembélé putting pen to paper, Depay finds himself in an awkward position.

With Barcelona head coach Xavi deeming the forward surplus to requirement, and the threat of losing his spot in the Netherlands’ national team, Memphis Depay might be compelled to take this opportunity to guarantee his spot in Qatar.

This deal, should Depay agree to the terms, will suit all parties. Barcelona, having to tidy their finances, are pushing to move on dead-woods to meet the requirements of La Liga financial regulations to make the required addition to improve their first team.

Memphis Depay, a gifted footballer, with a bag of skills and a class to his game came through the ranks in PSV, making a name for himself which prompted Manchester United to sign him during the 15/16 session.

Having a hard time settling down in England with a bad reputation, the forward decided to go to France to rebuild his career in Lyon. This move saw his stock rise, making a total of 139 appearances and amassing a total of 63 goals, and at the end of his contract, Barcelona took this opportunity to snap up the forward on a free transfer.

With a purported transfer of £17 million, this would be a good piece of business for a player deemed surplus to requirements and having a point to prove in England, providing competition for Harry Kane and an opportunity to play in the Champions League.

At Spurs, Conte is preparing to challenge perennial winners Manchester City and Liverpool for the EPL title, while also seeking to make decent runs in the domestic cup competitions.

The addition of Depay would help his course and this further increases the odds of Conte and Levy delivering a title to the Lily Whites, who have been craving for ages to celebrate winning a trophy.
