The sporting director of Paris Saint Germain, Leonardo has confirmed that the club’s striker, Kylian Mbappe has indicated that he wants to leave the club this summer.

Leonardo revealed that even though Kylian Mbappe still has a season left on his contract with PSG, the French club are not planning to hold him back.

“Kylian wants to leave, it seems clear to me”, PSG sporting director told RMC Sport. “If Real Madrid makes an offer, it seems clear to me… I am taking a position that I think is clear to everyone. If he wants to leave, we are not going to hold him back, but it will be on our terms.”

Over the years, Mbappe has consistently made it clear that his childhood dream is to play for Real Madrid. In his attempt to actualize his childhood dream, the 22-year-old French football star has turned down three attempts PSG made to renew his contract.

Despite the back and forth between PSG and Kylian Mbappe, the coach of the club, Mauricio Pochettino has always insisted that he is certain the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner would remain at the club this summer.

Also, the current coach of Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti, has stressed that the Spanish club are interested in having Mbappe at the club but if it doesn’t work, he has a very strong squad to execute the season.

Based on the aforementioned assertions, PSG and Real Madrid are very interested in having the French striker but Madrid are now favorites since Mbappe wants to move to Spain.

Earlier in the week, Real Madrid decided to make their interest in Mbappe official by making an official bid to PSG. The Spanish giants are willing to buy the Frenchman for €160 million.

Leonardo confirmed that Real Madrid have made an offer to sign the France international but PSG have rejected the offer because it is not good enough for the football star.

He said: “Yes, we said no verbally to Real. No one is being held back. If someone wants to leave and our conditions are met, we’ll see

“The offer is considered to be a far cry from what Kylian is worth today. We also owe part of this money to Monaco and we consider that the bid is not sufficient.”

Recall that Kylian Mbappe joined PSG on loan from Monaco on August 31, 2017. A season later, PSG decided to offer him a permanent deal which cost the French club €145 million.

Between 2017 and 2021, the French football star has played a total number of 174 games in all competitions for PSG in which he scored 133 goals and provided 63 assists.

Even though he wants to leave PSG this summer, Mbappe has not dropped his commitment to PSG as he has played in all their three league games this season. In the three league games, the 22-year-old striker has scored a goal and provided 2 assists.
