Mathias Pogba has released another video, as French prosecutors confirmed that Paul Pogba paid €100,000 to extortionists. This follows investigations of the rift between the Juventus star and his elder brother, Mathias Pogba.
More startling discoveries are emerging from the feud between renowned Juventus and former Manchester United midfielder and his elder brother Mathias Pogba.
Recall that on August 27, 2022, an online viral video from Mathias Pogba, a 32-year-old Guinea international, ex-footballer, and elder brother to Paul Pogba, sparked reactions among netizens. Mathias Pogba released a video in four different languages – Italian, Spanish, French, and English, threatening to lay bare ‘explosive informations’ and ‘great revelations’ about his younger brother Paul Pogba that will ’cause a lot of noise.’
According to the live video, which he shared on his Instagram and Twitter handles, the former Wrexham player said;
“The French, English, Italian and Spanish public – in other words, the whole world – as well as my brother’s fans, and even more so the French team and Juventus, my brother’s team-mates and his sponsors deserve to know certain things.
“In order to make an informed decision if he deserves the admiration, respect and love of the public.
“If he deserves his place in the French team and the honour of playing in the World Cup. If he deserves to be a starter at Juventus.
“If he is a trustworthy person, that any player deserves to have at his side.”
Meanwhile, Paul Pogba, his mother, Yeo Maribo, agent, Pimenta, and his lawyer have issued an official statement to counter the claims of Mathias Pogba, saying that Mathias’s statement is part of a long process of extortion attempt which Mathias and some organized gang have planned against him to defraud him of €11m.
“Mathias Pogba’s recent statements on social networks are unfortunately not a
surprise,” they said. ‘They are in addition to threats and organized extortion attempts, against Paul Pogba.”
In a move that further infuriates his elder brother Mathias, Paul reported the matter to the police, who dolled out more details of the rift.
Police have confirmed that an investigation has been launched into a report of ‘attempts on extortion by some organized gang.’
The Judicial sources further confirmed that the prime suspects in the alleged extortion attempt by some organised gang are Mathias Pogba and Paul Pogba’s childhood friends.
Sources close to the Pogba’s confirmed that Paul Pogba’s childhood friends are organizing the extortion attempt, and the €13m is being demanded not to disseminate the incriminating information about the Juventus star.
While reporting the incident to the French authorities, Paul Pogba affirmed an attack on him by ‘hooded men with assault rifles’ who demanded €13m for allegedly protecting him for 13 years.
Paul stated that the men also claimed that he had abandoned them since he became a professional footballer, a claim he refuted, citing instances he had rendered help to his childhood friends.
French and Italian authorities are conducting a parallel investigation into the brewing crisis between the two brothers.
According to the French media, Paul had told investigators that he had already paid €100, 000 before the authorities commenced investigation into the case.
Mathias Pogba clear the air on the witch doctor claim involving Kylian Mbappe and Paul Pogba.
Meanwhile, Mathias Pogba had taken to his Twitter handle to address the witch doctor’s claim. He stated that it is true that his younger brother, Paul Pogba, had consulted a witch doctor to cast a spell on French and Paris Saint Germain talisman Kylian Mbappe.
“Kylian, do you understand now? I have nothing against you; what I am saying is for your own good; everything is true and known; the witch doctor is known!”
As the feud escalates, Mathias Pogba had released another video on Tuesday saying the witch doctor ritual conducted by Pogba required ‘bad things’ to be done.
“These practices require you to do bad things for their rituals with a desire to do harm,” he said.
Mathias also defended himself against accusations of extortion by Pogba, saying;
“In his relentless effort to discredit anyone who knows his dirty secrets, Paul claimed that the money he gave to his childhood friends was part of an extortion, but what if this money is justified, official and registered documents, and there is evidence of a consenting gesture?”
Kylian Mbappe is yet to comment on the development. Still, sources close to the family of the French star have disclosed that the family is monitoring the situation as it unravels.
Noel Le Graet, French Football Association President, has downplayed the scandals involving the two top stars in the French national team with just four months to go into Qatar 2022 World Cup.
“These are just rumors at this point; I love Paul. I hope this does not call into question his spot on the French side,” he said.
The case is still under investigation by both French and Italian authorities.
