Marcus Rashford has lent a helping hand in his Rolls Royce’s restoration after a video of YouTuber Mat Armstrong buying the United forward’s wrecked Rolls Royce went viral with over five million views.
The £700,000 vehicle was involved in a collision back in September, leading to it being written off.
Meanwhile, the YouTuber Mat Armstrong purchased the car at an auction for £184,000 but was facing difficulties in getting it started and significant repair costs due to its custom build.
Rashford and his team reached out to Armstrong after seeing the video, offering their assistance in completing the restoration of the custom Mansory Black Badge Wraith.
In a message from members of the England forward’s team, it was stated, “Hello, I handle all of Marcus’ cars and we may still have some items from the car that you may require.”
“We possibly have the spare key, v5, and a few other items from when the car was recovered. Additionally, we can provide you with the ghost code and tracker information if you would like us to send them to you.”
After receiving the message, Mat gratefully accepted the generous offer and ended up receiving several more items to assist in the restoration of the Rolls Royce.
Other parts of the vehicle Mat received included a car cover valued at £590, floor mats valued at £1,300, a grill surround valued at £4,200, a boot mat valued at £680, and a wheel cap valued at £110.
In a recent video, Armstrong expressed gratitude to Rashford and his team for providing additional items and new information regarding the crash.
Armstrong stated, “I want to thank Rashford’s team for going above and beyond. It saved us a lot of money.”
Despite Rashford’s car having less than 1000 miles on it before being sold to Armstrong, it was severely damaged after one driver hit Rashford’s car while attempting to change lanes.
Armstrong, who had never worked on a Rolls Royce before, bought another model for £90,000 solely for parts and successfully repaired Rashford’s vehicle.
According to The Sun, Armstrong is planning on raffling a signed part of the vehicle with the hope that Rashford will sign it and donate the £1 entry fees to the FareShare foodbank charity.
Marcus Rashford has been a vital member of Manchester United’s squad under Erik ten Hag, having emerged from their youth academy as a key attacker.
He recently extended his contract with the club until 2028 after signing a new deal in the summer of 2023. This season, Rashford has featured in 33 matches across all competitions, scoring 7 goals and providing two assists.
