Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has taken to this Instagram page to confirm that he is officially back with his childhood lover Lucia Loi.
Recall that the two lovebirds who have been dating since they were in school ended their relationship before the European Championship (Euro 2020) which took place between June 11 and July 11, 2021.
Some reports in the United Kingdom claimed that the relationship between Marcus Rashford and Lucia Loi crashed in May 2021. The reason for the crash was said to be connected to the coronavirus lockdown which limited their time together.
Then, reports claimed that it was difficult for Rashford to stay without Lucia who she has been with long before he became a football superstar.
Despite the emotional trauma that the football star was undergoing, he was named in England’s squad that played in Euro 2020.
He was one of the players in the squad that did not perform to expectation. To make things worst, the national team coach, Gareth Southgate gave Rashford the go-ahead to play one of the spot-kicks in the Euro 2020 final between England and Italy. Unfortunately for Rashford and England, the 24-year-old winger missed his kick.
Rashford’s miss in the penalty shootout and that of Bukayo Saka, and Jadon Sancho ended the country’s aspiration to win their first European Championship in the country’s history. The miss attracted a lot of criticism and racial attack on the players.
After the event, the major mission for Rashford was to get back with Lucia. After a series of back and forth, reports emerged before last Christmas holiday that Rashford and Lucia are back together.
To confirm the speculations, Rashord shared pictures on his Instagram page showing that all is good between him and his 23-year-old girlfriend who is a PR executive.
In some of the pictures, Rashford’s closest friend at Manchester United, Jesse Lingard could be seen spending some quality time with both the footballer and Lucia. In the caption, the Manchester United winger wrote: “Through thick & thin”.
Before Marcus Rashford settled with Lucia, the 24-year-old English striker struggled to score regularly for Manchester United. But since they got back together, Rashford has regained his goalscoring form, especially in January.
So far this season, The England international has scored 5 goals and provided an assist in 17 games in all competitions. His contract with Manchester United will expire on June 30, 2023.
