The Three Lions forward is hitting the peak of his career under Erik Ten Hag, and currently has more goals than the deadly Manchester City goal-machine after the resumption of English football from the World Cup break.

Manchester United returned to action on December 21, 2022, playing Burnley in the EFL Cup round of 16.

The match ended in a 2-0 win for the Red Devils with Christian Eriksen opening the scoring for the Red Devils in the 27th minute, while Marcus doubled the lead in the 57th minute.

Their next game was a Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest which ended in a convincing 3-0 win. Marcus Rashford again recorded his name on the score sheet, opening the scoring for the team in the 19th minute before Martial and Fred sealed the win.

On 31 December 2022, Marcus Rashford again scored the only goal as Manchester United sailed to a hard-fought 1-0 win over Wolves at the Molineux Stadium in the Premier League.

Rashford would have netted a brace, but his second goal was ruled out after a VAR review. However, his late strike for the club was enough to secure all three points for the Red Devils.

On January 3, 2023, Rashford again scored Manchester United’s last goal in the 87th minute as they secured a 3-0 win over Bournemouth in the Premier League.

Casemiro opened the scoring for the Red Devils in the 23rd minute, before Luke Shaw doubled the lead in the 49th minute.

Marcus Rashford then sealed the win late in the 86th minute to score his fourth goal in four consecutive games after the World Cup break.

Against Everton in FA Cup, Marcus Rashford scored a stoppage-time penalty to help Manchester United secure a 3-1 victory over Everton and qualify for the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Antony opened the scoring for the Red Devils in the 4th minute. Everton equalized in the 14th minute after a horrendous mistake by David de Gea allowed Conor Coardy to volley the ball in.

Conor Coady later scored an own goal that returned Manchester United to the lead, before Rashford sealed the win for the Red Devils with a late penalty.

Marcus Rashford has now capped his prolific post-World Cup form with 7 goals after bagging a brace in Manchester United’s 3-O win over Charlton in the EFL Cup quarterfinal.

After the World Cup break, Marcus Rashford is leading the chart of Premier League players with the highest number of goals after the World Cup break. He now has seven goals; three goals better than Manchester City’s prolific forward Erling Haaland who has 4 goals.

However, the England youngster is still miles away from Erling Haaland. He has 15 goals in all competitions for Manchester United while Erling Haaland has 26 goals in all competitions.

Nevertheless, Rashford is showing great signs of improvement under Erik Ten Hag.
