After a remarkable campaign in attack for Manchester United, Marcus Rashford was named the club’s Player of the year.
Rashford has scored 30 goals and provided 11 assists in 55 appearances for the Old Trafford side this campaign.
He capped off an impressive season which saw him assist Man United in getting back to the UEFA Champions League alongside winning the Carabao Cup with the Sir Matt Busby Player of the year award.
Marcus Rashford also helped the Red Devils in getting to the final of the FA Cup where they play Manchester City on Saturday at Wembley.
This is the first time the Englishman is winning the award since he made his debut for Manchester United against Midtjylland in February 2016.
Following recent seasons of below par performances, the forward picked himself up this campaign and produced excellent performances through the season.
Marcus Rashford also took home the players’ player of the year award at the club’s end of season awards.
The 25 year old’s goal return this campaign has been his best in the colors of Manchester United.
He became the first player to have graduated from the club’s academy to win the prestigious club honor since Ryan Giggs in 1998.
Rashford was amongst the 23 players penned down by Gareth Southgate for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar after his return to form and he was also excellent for the Three Lions of England during the tournament.
The Mancunian ended the tournament as England’s joint top-scorer with three goals to his name.
After receiving the award, Marcus Rashford revealed how proud and happy he was winning the Sir Matt Busby Player of the year award.
He said: “Definitely a proud feeling, it’s been a long time since an academy player has won this award so I feel a huge sense of pride.
“I just hope that more academy players can go on and win this award and feel what I’m feeling right now on the stage.
“I’m very happy, very pleased, and I just want to say a big thanks to team-mates, staff, because without them pushing you every day in training you don’t get to see the best version of me.

The Englishman also took to the micro-blogging app called Twitter to express how amazing an achievement it was for him to win the award.
He tweeted: “What an incredible honor to win both the Sir Matt Busby and Players’ ‘Player Of The Year’ awards tonight.
“To have the support of both the fans and my teammates means the world, I couldn’t do it without you all.
“Thanks to the manager & all the staff for their phenomenal help.”

Marcus Rashford has scored 128 goals and provided 68 assists in total for Manchester United and fans of the club would need him to increase that tally when Ten Hag’s men face off against City in the FA Cup final.
Earlier this season, the Manchester based club activated a clause to further Rashford’s deal to 2024 and Ten Hag revealed in a presser prior to United’s 0-1 win against Bournemouth how he was confident that Rashford wants to remain at the club.
He said: “I know it is taking time. But I don’t talk about the process. This is not important at the moment for me or Rashy.
“For him, it is to get more goals this season and he is playing a wonderful season and the team is playing a wonderful season.
“We have to get into the Champions League and focus on that.
“Marcus wants to stay and we want him to stay, so I think we will find each other.”
