Marcos Asensio is reportedly ready to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season after he rejected another contract offer from the Spanish giants.
The 27-year-old winger is out of contract at the end of the season, and there have been talks of an extension since December 2022.
It was reported that the club is looking forward to increasing his salary and giving him a long-term contract, but the Spanish winger wants a prominent role on his side.
Asensio wants to start all matches for Real Madrid, but he doesn’t see himself getting into the squad regularly with Carlo Ancelotti starting almost the same players in every game. Asensio had only started 18 matches out of 59 this season.
With Asensio, who is set to leave the club, Real Madrid will be left with a few attackers: Karim Benzema, Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo, and Federico Valverde.
Paris Saint-Germain are currently monitoring his contract situation and will start negotiations with him and his agent, Jorge Mendes, at the end of June 2023.
Also, there are interests from Premier League clubs. Manchester United, Arsenal, and Liverpool have been linked with the player for a while now.
Asensio, who could play football for another club outside Spain’s domestic league for the first time, will fit in with those Premier League teams.
