While the Spaniard is meant to be starting games, he is also a dangerous player when he comes on from the bench.

Marco Asensio has come on 39 times in the Champions League match and has scored 9 goals, more than any other player.

He has scored 5 goals in his last 10 appearances from the bench for Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Asensio came off the bench to help Real Madrid beat Chelsea at home in their first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday.

He was on the field for just three minutes and that was enough to get the Los Blancos side off the mark in the Champions League.

Although he has never enjoyed being a ‘luxury reserve’, the former Espanyol player is demonstrating his capabilities.

Asensio’s contract with Real Madrid will expire in June 2024 and he is looking forward to the club’s plans for him aside his huge pay.

Him remaining at Real Madrid relatively lies on the stay of coach Carlo Ancelotti as the team’s Manager.

AC Milan wants the services of the Spaniard and they have never failed to show their admiration for the attacking player.

Marco Asensio is also in a dilemma as he is stuck in the idea of finally reaching his potential with Los Blancos or trying a new adventure elsewhere.

He started his career in Mallorca and was signed by Real Madrid in November 2014, and was later loaned out to Espanyol.

After returning back to Real Madrid, he has won several honors, including three Champions League and three La Liga trophies.

For Spain, Asensio made his senior debut in 2016, representing them at the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cup.

He was also in the starting line up for Spain in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, playing every one of Spain’s games in the tournament (up until Round of 16, Spain’s elimination).

Asensio comes from a family of footballers, as his father, Gilberto (a Basque who spent his childhood in Essen, Germany) was a player.

Just like Asensio, he was an attacking midfielder, he also represented Barakaldo CF as a youth; Marco’s elder brother Igor played for Platges de Calvià, as a defender.
