Manchester United midfielder, Frederico Rodrigues (Fred) has showered love on his wife, Monique Salum once again to show that their love keeps waxing stronger.

In a throwback picture, the Brazilian, who has been on the fringes at Old Trafford uploaded a lovely picture of them where they were loving up.

Despite being on the fringe at Old Trafford, it seems that the Brazilian is not distracted by his lack of playing time under Ole Gunnar Solksjaer at Bruno Fernandes is ahead of him in the pecking order.

The couple has been married for two years and blessed with a son named Ben.He wrote to complement the picture on Instagram: “My love ❤️ #tbt.”

How did Fred meet Monique Salum?

It was gathered that the couple met when he was still playing for Shakhtar Donetsk and made their relationship public in 2016.

Two years later, in 2018, Fred was already convinced that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Monique and he proposed to her in a very romantic way.

In the summer of 2018, they tied the knot, but they did not make any big wedding ceremonies.

She is currently working at the Centre for the Development of Nuclear Technology.

Club history of Fred Rodrigues

Fred began his career at Brazilian club Internacional, where he won the Campeonato Gaúcho twice.

He then signed for Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk in June 2013, where he won 10 trophies, including three Ukrainian Premier League titles.

Man United then picked him up in 2018. Having represented Brazil at the under-20 level, Fred made his senior international debut in November 2014. He was part of the 2015 Copa América in Chile, playing at the starting of their first two Group C matches as they reached the quarter-finals. He was also named in Brazil’s final 23-man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

So far he has played ten games for United this season, 6 of them werein the Premier League.

Biography of Fred Rodrigues

Fred, who spent six years of his childhood at local club Atlético Mineiro, before joining Porto Alegre in 2009 was born in Belo Horizonte.

After a year, he joined Internacional having initially represented the club at various youth levels and helped them win six titles in 2010, including the Copa Santiago and Copa.

He made his professional debut aged 18 on 26 January 2012, against Cerâmica in the Campeonato Gaúcho.He opened his goal account in professional football on 18 July 2012, in a Série A game against his former club Atlético Mineiro.

He later scored eight goals in 55 appearances for Internacional and won the Campeonato Gaúcho twice.

He then moved to Shakhtar Donetsk in 2013 in a deal worth €15 million. He then scored two goals on his competitive debut in the Ukrainian Super Cup, helping Shakhtar to a 3–1 victory over Chornomorets Odesa.

After winning 10 trophies, including three Ukrainian Premier League titles with Shakhtar, Manchester United signed him up on 5 June 2018, for a reported fee of £47 million. He agreed a five-year contract with the Old Trafford outfit, with the option to extend for a further year.

He then made his debut on 11 August in a 2–1 victory over Leicester City in their first league game of the season before scoring his first goal for United against Wolverhampton Wanderers on 22 September 2018, in a 1–1 league draw at home.

Internationally, Fred played three times for the Brazil under-20 team at the 2013 South American Youth Football Championship and later made his national team debut 12 November 2014, as a substitute in a 4–0 victory over Turkey in Istanbul.

Fred replaced an injured Luiz Gustavo in the 2015 Copa América in Chile, starting in their first two Group C matches as they reached the quarter-finals.
