Manchester United winger Antony will miss his striking Lamborghini Aventador at least for some days after the £337,000-worth ride was plunged into the back of a recovery truck.
Just weeks after hitting the City of Manchester for a new leap in his football career, the former Ajax winger and Brazil international hit the ground running, splashing part of his multi-million dollar worth United contract on a new cool ride.
Since buying the luxury sports car, Antony has been hitting Carrington training ground in the cozy comfort of the car and has been spotted as well in the streets of Cheshire.
Sadly, the left-foot ace will miss his ride for a while after footage shows the ride driven into the back of a recovery truck from his Cheshire home.
The car was taken away in the back of an RNW Tower Truck apparently due to an unexpected glitch that needs to be fixed.
Antony bought the new costly wheels after he made Brazil 2022 World Cup squad a few weeks after joining Manchester United from Ajax. The youngster took to his Instagram page to share a shot of him with the fresh new wheels with fans hitting the comment section with congratulatory messages.
Antony posed with Leighton – the man who organized and processed the purchase for the Manchester United forward.
Appreciating Leighton, he gave him a signed Manchester United T-shirt and was obviously in high spirits awaiting the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after being named in the squad.
Brazil crashed out of the 2022 World Cup in the quarterfinals, losing to Croatia via penalty shootouts.
Apart from his newly bought Lamborghini Aventador, Antony has been spotted in the streets of Manchester with his BMW X6, apparently, his first ride.
After the World Cup, his return to Manchester United’s lineup was delayed after he crashed his ride during new year celebrations.
He was shocked by the incident and was made to pass through a breathalyzer test before being cleared by Erik Ten Hag to return to the squad.
Now, the Red Devils record-signing from Ajax is facing a gnawing issue with his new ride after his BMW X6 crashed after the World Cup.
The car was jacked away by the truck on Thursday before Manchester United’s Europa League round 16 clash against Real Betis.
Antony played a key role in that game, helping restore Manchester United’s lead in the second half with a stunning left-footed strike after Perez had canceled out Marcus Rashford’s opener in the first half.
The Red Devils went on to grab a big 4-1 win against the La Liga side with Antony scoring his fourth goal for Manchester United since arriving at the Old Trafford club.
