Marcus Rashford is reportedly worth ‘in excess’ of £120 million to Manchester United, which is double what Paris Saint-Germain believes the youngster is worth.

The French club has set their sights on signing the 24-year-old forward this summer. He has one year remaining on his contract at Old Trafford.

Rashford is “eager” for a fresh challenge, according to French writer Julien Laurens, who also disputes L’Equipe’s assertion that his representatives have already begun negotiations with PSG.

Despite this, no negotiations for a transaction between PSG and Manchester United have taken place.

In fact, despite Rashford’s recent struggles, United is eager to lock him into a new deal and has no plans to open up further negotiations.

According to ESPN, the Ligue 1 champions are willing to give Rashford a substantial pay raise, but again, there hasn’t been any communication between the two teams as of yet.

Rashford’s worth is also mentioned in the report. Manchester United values the player at twice as much as PSG believes he is worth in the present market, which is roughly £60 million.

Neil Warnock, a former manager of Sheffield United, believes the 24-year-old attacker will find his old form soon.

In an interview, Warnock stated of Rashford, “He has been a little bit subdued in the last 12 months, but I think Rashford will receive a fresh lease of life under Erik ten Hag, especially if Ronaldo does depart.

“And that’s no disrespect to Ronaldo. He’s a fantastic player but I do think it’s slowed down the progress of somebody like Rashford.

“I think Marcus will have a good start to the season and turn Gareth [Southgate’s] head. I think he’s as good as anyone beyond [Harry] Kane.”

Rashford fared well in the preseason under new boss Erik ten Hag, but he didn’t stand out in United’s opening-day loss to Brighton on Sunday.

That preparation, in the words of the guy himself, was “priceless.”

“For me personally, it’s priceless to have the pre-season that I’ve had,” Marcus Rashford told PA in July.

“Sometimes I don’t really take as much note of it because usually we’re playing games in the summer and stuff like that, so the next season sort of just rolls onto the previous season.

“But this year I’ve had time to break, rest, recover mentally and physically, and then I’ve had a proper pre-season. I’m incredibly joyful. I’m pleased that I managed to do that.”

Marcus Rashford MBE, an English professional footballer who plays forward for Manchester United in the Premier League and the England squad, was born on October 31, 1997.

Rashford, a Manchester United player since he was seven years old, scored twice on both his first-team UEFA Europa League debut against Midtjylland in February 2016 and his Premier League debut against Arsenal three days later.

He also scored on his EFL Cup and UEFA Champions League debuts, as well as in his first Manchester derby. Rashford has won the UEFA Europa League, FA Cup, EFL Cup, FA Community Shield, and EFL Cup with United.

    Will Rashford leave Manchester United?

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Marcus Rashford’s “priority” this summer is to stay at Manchester United, provided that he is given assurances on playing time.

The 20-time English champions’ international player from England has struggled to make an impact during the 2021–22 season, registering just five goals and two assists in 32 appearances across all competitions.

Rashford has only contributed four goals and two assists in 25 Premier League appearances, and after struggling against Chelsea last week, he was not deployed as a substitute against Brentford on Monday.

In recent months, there has been a lot of conjecture about the 24-year-old’s future with several teams, including Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, reportedly interested in signing him.

The club has the option to activate a one-year extension, which would keep Rashford at the club until June 2024, but his contract at Old Trafford is set to expire next summer.

Romano claims that the Man United academy product wants to stay at the club amid rumors of a potential summer departure.
