Manchester United vs Brentford: Marcus Rashford scored an impressive goal against Brentford to return Manchester United back into the top four and also end their three-match winless run.

Brentford scored four goals in the previous match against Manchester United at the beginning of the season, but there was no room for the Bees to repeat the same feat at Old Trafford on Wednesday night, April 5.

Manchester United got their first real chance from Scott McTominay in the 21st minute after a beautiful play from the right wing involving Antony and Diogo Dalot.

Two minutes later, after the first attempt, Antony got the second chance, but he bent it wide. The Brazilians seem to be accustomed to that style of shooting.

Manchester United went ahead in the 28th minute, with Rashford scoring his 28th goal in all competitions for the Red Devils.

Brentford failed to clear their line properly, and it got to McTominay.

The midfielder put the ball back into the box. Marcel Sabitzer headed it on to Rashford’s path, and the winger made no mistake in hitting the ball nicely.

The dominating Manchester United got another chance from a counterattack.

Bruno Fernandez linked with Antony, who played a through pass to Rashford; the English winger hit the ball well, but Brentford Raya made exceptional cover.

Early in the second half, David De Gea committed a howler that nearly led to a goal for Brentford.

Manchester United fans who were aggrieved by the Spanish goalkeeper’s pass showed signs of relief.

Brentford Kevin Schade had a one-on-one with De Gea; the goalkeeper, however, covered for his defenders’ mistake. It was Brentford’s best chance of the game.

After De Gea made the stop, he was seen grumbling on the floor with pain; however, he was quickly attended to by the Manchester United medical staff.

Manchester United kept knocking for a second goal, with Rashford having the chance to shoot.

However, the Manchester United winger showed no sign of selfishness as he laid the ball down for Fred.
