Manchester United have reached an agreement with star midfielder Bruno Fernandes on a new contract extension, according to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The 29-year-old Portuguese has put pen to a new deal which will run until June 2027, with an option for an additional season.

This deal according to Romano will cement Fernandes status as one of Manchester United’s highest earners.

Romano wrote on his X(former Twitter): “EXCLUSIVE: Manchester United have reached an agreement with Bruno Fernandes to extend his contract.”

“New deal will be valid until June 2027 plus option included for further season, June 2028 — salary at top #MUFC level. All set to be signed before end of the summer window.”

Meanwhile, Fernandes, who has made an impressive 234 appearances for the Red Devils since joining in 2020, had been linked with moves to Saudi Arabia, Bayern Munich, and Inter Milan amid uncertainty over his future.

However, the Portuguese international has reaffirmed his commitment to Manchester United, echoing his previous statements about wanting to stay at the club and compete for top honors.

Fernandes expressed his commitment to United stating: “I don’t want to leave. This has always been my ultimate dream. I just want my expectations to fit with the expectations of the club.”

Meanwhile, this new deal is a testament to Fernandes’ integral role in the team and his desire to match his ambitions with the club’s expectations.

The Portuguese forward was highly impressive last season contributing to Manchester United’s success.

In 35 appearances for Manchester United, Fernandes scored 10 goals and provided 8 assists across all competitions.
