Maguire earns £190,000 weekly at Manchester United. The projections are he will earn less than the amount in his new club if he leaves this summer, hence Manchester United have to pay the £10million to offset his wage bills.
On Monday, Erik Ten Hag reaffirmed his stand on Harry Maguire’s future at Manchester United. The Dutch tactician revealed Harry Maguire has been training well but face a high competition from Raphael Varane.
Ten Hag added Maguire is still important for Manchester United as captain but the decision to stay or leave the club is his (Maguire’s) decision given his lack of game time.
Meanwhile, England manager Gareth Southgate, who is a big fan of Harry Maguire has dislcosed Maguire’s lack of game time at Manchester United cannot continue if he must retain his spot in the Three Lions squad.
However, the 30-year-old shoved his struggles at Old Trafford to put up an impressive performance in Qatar. He made Gareth Southgate’s squad for Euros 2024 qualifiers first round of matches against Italy and Ukraine.
