Ajax have finally bent on their refusal to let Antony leave after Manchester United submitted a tempting €100m for their top star, Antony, 22.

The Dutch Champions have been holding out for Antony, maintaining that the Brazilian is not for sale despite strong interest from Manchester United.

Ajax have cited their depleted attacking lineup and fallout on potential replacement deals for Antony. Hence they were not ready to let the youngster leave despite his attempts to push for a move.

Ajax sold Sebastian Haller to Borussia Dortmund and had sought to strike a loan deal with Chelsea for Hakim Ziyech – a move which failed woefully.

Meanwhile, Manchester United has been on Antony’s trail and submitted bids for the player to secure a deal to land the forward since the transfer window opened.

Antony still had a contract with the Dutch Champions until 2027 but had to push for a move to Manchester United. His representatives were in Manchester during the weekend to put finishing touches to his personal terms with the Red Devils.

The Brazil international had already agreed on personal terms with the Old Trafford club and has started scouting for a residence in Manchester, while Ajax held on, not accepting Man United’s offer.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed on August 26, 2022, that Ajax had rejected Manchester United’s third and possibly last offer of €90m for Antony. That was Manchester United’s third offer for Antony after two previous bids had been rejected.

Ajax’s rejection of Manchester United’s new bid angered the Brazil international. In an interview with Fabrizio Romano, Antony reiterated his insistence to effect a move and leave the Dutch champions. According to Antony, it was time for him to move In with his motivations and what made him happy, and he hoped Ajax fans would understand him.

The youngster was unhappy with Ajax after the news broke that Manchester United’s third €90m bid for the player had been rejected.

“I am not asking Ajax to release me. I am asking them to sell me,” Antony said in an interview with Romano.

Meanwhile, the 22-year-old refused to train with Ajax and was left out of the team’s starting lineup against Sparta Rotterdam. He was also set to miss another match with Utrecht as tensions between him and Ajax deepened.

Antony is Erik Ten Hag’s fifth signing and will be the second Ajax star to join Manchester United after Lisandro Martinez. Antony will certainly realize his dream of a move to Manchester United and a reunion with Erik Ten Hag.

According to Fabrizio Romano, his contract will be prepared today, Monday, 29, 2022. The youngster may likely feature for the Red Devils in their next Premier League game.
