Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag has been urged to quickly resolve the issue surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at the club.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has made his desire known that he wants to leave the club in search of Champions League football this season following Manchester United’s failure to qualify for the European club football tournament.

Manchester United have made their stance known that the 37-year-old striker is not for sale. Although he is adamant on leaving the club after a series of poor activities in the transfer window.

Cristiano Ronaldo showed his frustration after he failed to start against Brighton after Manchester United fell to a 2-0 lead in the first half.

Ronaldo was introduced in the second half and failed to make an immediate impact. Erik Ten Hag started the game with a false nine, owing to Cristiano Ronaldo’s absence during the preseason.

Eriksen started out as a false 9, making the club struggle in front of the Brighton defence with no shots on target in the first half.

The former Liverpool player, Souness, has insisted that Ten Hag should keep Ronaldo at Old Trafford and make him part of his plan.

Souness told Talksports “A manager can only look at the next two or three games. Time is not your friend.” If Ronaldo’s there, you’ve got a chance of scoring goals that equate to winning games of football.

Although Cristiano Ronaldo is 37 years old, he still can score goals in big games, and none of the young talents can do it better than him. He is an intelligent player, with good positioning, excellent aerial ability, and a better shot shooter.

How can Ten Hag repair Manchester United and Cristiano Ronaldo?

After the defeat at Old Trafford on Sunday, the morale of the players has been low, and fans are already protesting about how the club is being run by the Glazers and the need to sell the club.

Fans seem to be worried about the future of the club even after the appointment of a new manager. The problem keeps persisting. The owners have no ambitions and all they want to do is take money away from the club.

Ten Hag informed the club before he joined that he would be part of the recruitment team to enable him to get his preferable targets this season. Manchester United have been linked with De Jong, Anthony, Dumfries, and Sesko.

The Dutch manager should make Cristiano Ronaldo believe again in the team, build the team around him, and stop playing underperforming players.

Ten Hag needs the support of everybody at the club, and he has to prove that he is the one for this Manchester United job. The job has been rejected by a lot of managers who don’t like how the club is being run.

When Manchester United play at Brentford this Saturday, fans are expecting something different from the one they saw in the last match. The club currently sits in the 13th position in the league
