Manchester United legend, Edwin van der Sar, the chief executive officer of AFC Ajax, has extended his contract with the Dutch club amid interest from Chelsea.

Chelsea was keeping an eye on Van der Sar to make him the club’s sporting director, a role Boehly is currently occupying in the interim. But in the end, Ajax persuaded Van der Sar to stay in his native country.
Thomas Tuchel, the head coach of the west Londoners, was fired on Wednesday 7th, 2022., and Graham Potter took his place the following day.
The club’s new sporting director will be selected with input from the former Brighton manager.
The 51-year-old Dutchman said in a club statement: “In the past ten years, Ajax has experienced a lot of change. We have developed alongside the club in numerous ways over the years”.
While Edwin was speaking on the club’s achievement, he said:
“The first team’s accomplishments have contributed significantly to the growth of international recognition. But that achievement is also the result of an incredible organization.
“Our objective is to join the top international teams structurally. We intend to participate in the redesigned Champions League each year starting in 2024 when the format of the European competitions will change. I want to continue contributing to that process since that journey is not yet finished.
“I get to work with energized coworkers who want to keep setting higher standards every day. not only in the workplace, but also with the Ajax Women, the youth academy, and the first team.
“The stadium is consistently full, and sales of various Ajax jerseys to young and old, both domestically and internationally, have increased dramatically.
“We appreciate the support of both our home and away fans. Enough justifications exist for me to continue investing my heart and soul in this club in the years to come.”
