Cavani has not played for PSG since January 12, with the French champions still publicly claiming that he is injured.

The Uruguayan, who turns 33 in February, joined PSG from Napoli in 2013 for £55m and has scored 195 goals in 269 appearances. He has only made nine Ligue 1 appearances this season and has played just 14 times in all competitions this season, scoring on five occasions. Cavani has also gone on to win different trophies for PSG during his seven-years spell.

He said: “He has been training with us for the past few days, but the situation is not clear for him either.
