All work no play makes Jack a dull boy, as they say, Manchester United David Da Gea and girlfriend, Edurne Garcia had fun on the beach.
It’s not every time that one has to be doing serious business. Having kept his team in games, it was time for the goalie to have a nice time with his heartthrob, who is a Spanish singer.
Edurne, who is also a Spanish actress and a TV presenter, is reportedly five years older than the former Athletico Madrid goalie. The duo, who may someday in the future consider getting married to each other, often go for parties and social gatherings together.
The shot-stopper considered spending time with Edurne as one of the few things that interest him.
Edurne had in an interview in 2018 said she moved to Manchester to be with his heartthrob.
“I have moved there (to Manchester). I will come (back to Spain) to work. In the end, he could not come here (to Spain). So I’m going there, no problems.
Speaking on marriage before children, she said it could be another way round because she is not one of those who think first a wedding then children, adding that the order is not really important.
“The important thing is how you feel. If you feel more like being a mother than getting married, amazing, or if you only want to be a mother or only want to get married, great, but for the moment, not a wedding nor kids.”
How it alls started on David De Gea’s footballing career
De Gea was born in Madrid and raised in nearby Illescas. He rose to the Atletico Madrid’s senior team from the academy. He made his senior debut in 2009, aged 18, and helped the team win the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Super Cup in 2010. Athletico refused to sell him to a city Rivals, and he was snapped up by Manchester United in June 2011 for £18.9 million, a British record for a goalkeeper at the time.
De Gea, who has maintained the number spot at Old Trafford, has made over 300 appearances and won a Premier League title, an FA Cup, a League Cup, three Community Shields, and the UEFA Europa League.
Other individual honours he won include United’s Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year, which he won on three straight occasions and four in all. He was also included in four consecutive (five in total) PFA Team of the Year sides from 2015 to 2018. He was part of the selected FIFA FIFPro World XI in 2018.
After being tipped by many as the successor to Iker Casillas, he eventually got the number one spot which he occupies up till today after making his debut in 2014. He was part of the 2014 World Cup squad.
He eventually became the number one keeper at the 2016 European Championships, as well as the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
De Gea’s net worth
The Manchester United goalie is worth $25 million. He presently earns 10.4 million pounds annually with the Red Devils.
The present deal with the Old Trafford club will still keep him there till at least June 2023 with an option of a further year.
