Manchester United fans are certain that Casemiro’s red card will be overturned after additional footage of his scuffle with Will Hughes surfaced.

After a VAR check revealed that the Brazilian had been clutching the Crystal Palace midfielder by the neck, referee Andre Marriner gave the Brazilian the boot.

Due to the red card, Casemiro will be ineligible for United’s upcoming domestic matches against Leeds (at home and away) and Leicester City.

However, since a witness video revealed an alternate perspective of the confrontation, United supporters are now hoping that the suspension can be lifted.

After the altercation between the two sides has ended, Casemiro and Hughes can be seen in the video laughing off the situation.

Fans are certain that there was less violent behavior because of how the two responded.

A tweet read: “I think it gets turned if United appeals it.”

Another stated: “Bloody hell. Casemiro and Hughes are laughing about it.”

A third person said: “This must be the first case where a player has been sent off for violent conduct and the player ‘assaulted’ doesn’t react and then hugs his attacker.”

One more added: “Come on that’s not violent conduct in any way shape or form.”

A Concerned fan added: “Without knowing, if someone showed you this and told you one of the players involved gets a straight red and three-game ban, you’re not guessing Casemiro.”

“The slowed-down angle used by VAR admittedly looked far worse, but from this angle it’s almost laughable.”

    What Did Casemiro Do?

Ten-man Manchester United held off Crystal Palace’s late pressure to win 2-1 at Old Trafford after Casemiro received a red card.

In order to assist Man United’s back four, which included Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Wan-Bissaka, and Luke Shaw on the flanks, Erik Ten Hag deployed his standard 4-2-3-1 configuration with Casemiro and Fred playing deep midfield duties.

Casemiro was dismissed in the 70th minute as VAR film revealed the Brazil international clinging to Hughes’ neck.

Schlupp scored Crystal Palace’s first goal following the dismissal to make the score 2-1, but 10-man Manchester United held on to earn the victory after the final whistle despite late pressure from Crystal Palace.

    Erik Ten Hag Blast Referee

Erik ten Hag, the manager of the team, criticized Marriner for his lack of consistency after the game because he failed to send Jordan Ayew to the stands for a comparable offense.

He stated: “The player from Crystal Palace takes a big risk by this foul – that he get badly injured – by pushing him over the line.”

“Everyone is reacting, Crystal Palace players and Man United players, and not only Casemiro.”

“There was one of the players, he did even worse than Casemiro.”

    “You have to be consistent.”

The Dutch coach was pleased with his team anyway because they “stand up for one other.”

He added: “This team stands for each other. It’s such a good spirit in a team.”

“They don’t accept when a player from us can be badly injured, and that is the way Antony got treated.”

“This team sticks together, but of course, you have to control your emotions.”

“But it’s really difficult in such a moment, and I see two teams fighting each other, two teams where several players were crossing the line, and then one player is picked out and gets sent off.”

    “For me that’s not right.”

What Next For Manchester United And Casemiro?

Erik ten Hag will certainly suffer a big setback in United’s quest for the top four as Casemiro, who has only recently returned from a suspension following a yellow card he received in the opposite scenario, will likely be given a three-match suspension for his red card.

His absence underscores the significance of Marcel Sabitzer’s acquisition; given United’s bare-bones midfield, the newcomer will almost certainly be utilized right away.

With a three-game suspension, the Brazilian might be eligible to play in the Europa League encounter against Barcelona on February 16, but will not be able to participate in the two league games against Leeds and the home game against Leicester.
