Reports are suggesting that Manchester United are looking at the possibility of getting Cristiano Ronaldo back to the club this summer if Juventus are willing to use the 5 time Ballon d’Or winner in a swap deal.

Coach Massimiliano Allegri has returned to Juventus after the sacking of Andrea Pirlo and it is being speculated that he wants to work with Paul Pogba at Juventus again.

In his first era at Juventus, Allegri built his team around the French midfielder but the World Cup winner has not been at his best form since he returned to Manchester United.

Paul Pogba and his team have failed to win a title for Manchester United since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer became the coach of the club in 2018.

Currently, Pogba and Manchester United have not been able to agree on a contract extension with a season left on his contract. While Cristiano Ronaldo who ended the 2020-2021 season as Serie A highest goalscorer has not extended his contract with Juventus with just a season left on it.

Hence, Manchester United are reportedly willing to strike a swap deal which could see Cristiano Ronaldo return to United while Paul Pogba returns to Juventus. However, the Premier League side would not allow that to happen if Juventus don’t add money to the swap deal which means Ronaldo plus money for Pogba.

At the same time, the coach of Manchester United, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has once noted that he intends to keep Paul Pogba at the club. Also, he reportedly desires to have Cristiano Ronaldo in his squad ahead of the 2021-2022 season.

At the time of publishing this report, Manchester United nor Juventus were yet to make an official move on the reported swap deal.

On the other hand, Manchester United don’t want to pay a whopping £120 million to bring Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur to the club this summer.

Instead of the English striker who ended the 2020-2021 season as the Premier League’s highest goalscorer, Manchester United reportedly prefers to sign English winger Jodan Sancho from Borussia Dortmund this summer.

Based on this, Manchester United intend to bank on Edison Cavani as the club’s main striker through the 2021-2022 season until the next summer transfer window when the release clause of Erling Haaland would be available to be triggered.

Just like Manchester United, many top European clubs are waiting for the 2022 summer transfer window to trigger the €75 million release clause of the 20-year-old Norwegian striker. However, some clubs don’t mind signing him this summer.

All these and more are some of the transfer sagas that are expected to unfold during the forthcoming summer transfer window as Solskjaer tries to equip his squad to compete more intensely against the reigning Premier League champions Manchester City and Champions League reigning champions Chelsea.
